In early April 2020, Vien Thinh Shoe Co., Ltd. (Long Hau Industrial Park, Can Giuoc district, Long An province) agreed with workers who temporarily took time off without pay. The reason was that the company ran out of orders, had not found new orders, and many customers in Europe were late in paying orders, so they could not afford to pay more than 1,600 workers and employees.

During the time for workers to take time off without pay, the company actively sought new orders by accepting more than 20 percent reduction in unit prices, even producing unprofitable. As a result, the company has received orders until October 2020. Currently, all workers are back to work and production gradually goes into stable.

Director of Vien Thinh Shoe Co., Ltd. - Tran The Linh, said: “Temporarily leaving the job will affect the life of workers, moreover, the company will lose skilled workers after the epidemic is over, it must spend the cost of training and recruit labor. However, the Board of Directors has proposed many options, proactively found new customers to restore production and helped workers stabilize their lives”.

Ms. Tran Thi Bi - Branch of Vien Thinh Shoe Co., Ltd, confided: “When I hear the company let workers take time off without pay, I'm very worried because I still have to feed my two children studying at college. Fortunately, the company called the workers back to work after the end of the social isolation period”.

Huu Nghi Garment 7 Co., Ltd. (Phuoc Lam commune, Can Giuoc district) specializes in manufacturing and trading in garment industry, in which orders are mainly exported to some European countries. Because of the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the company's orders have dropped by more than 30 percent, since March, especially there has been no orders since May and June. Under this situation, the company linked a number of businesses to switch to sewing masks and let workers work during office hours, without overtime.

Mr. Bui Van Ba - Branch of May Huu Nghi Enterprise 7 Company Limited, shared: “During the Covid-19 pandemic, many companies and businesses were affected, and the workers terminated the labor contract. And here, industry maintains stable jobs despite lower income than before. Hopefully, the company will soon have many new orders, this contributes to stabilizing production and creating jobs for workers".

J&J Fashion Company Limited (Long Hau Industrial Park, Can Giuoc district) specializes in manufacturing and trading of fashion clothing items exported to European countries, with nearly 150 workers. Currently, the company is almost out of orders, workers are let to leave work alternately but the workers are still ensure income. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huynh Giao, representative of J&J Fashion Company Limited, informed: “At the end of June, the company will run out of orders. The company is looking for new customers, and determine to restore production in the shortest possible time”.

Covid-19 epidemic affected the production situation of many companies and enterprises. Therefore, companies and businesses have to come up with many plans to restore production and business after the epidemic. Hopefully, with the efforts and support of all levels, sectors, companies, enterprises will soon overcome difficulties, restore production and do business./.
