Focus on developing synchronous transport network for socio-economic development and attract investment

On June 8, the Supervision Delegation of Standing People's Council of Long An continued to conduct thematic supervision on improving the investment environment for Department of Transport. Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council – Mai Van Nhieu chaired the supervision.

According to the report from Department of Transport, in implementing reform of administrative procedures, improving competitiveness, promoting and attracting investment, the Department are currently implementing 142 administrative procedures in 3 areas, including registration, road and inland waterway. In which, there are 127 administrative procedures under the jurisdiction of Department of Transport.

To improve the satisfaction of people and businesses, over the past time, Department of Transport has promoted digital transformation in management activities, providing public services, reducing and simplifying administrative procedures through applications of information technology. 100% of administrative procedures applied "one-stop-shop" mechanism, ensuring publicity and transparency in handling.

Delegates exchange some contents at the thematic supervision

In particular, in order to attract investment and develop socio-economic, Department of Transport coordinated with relevant agencies to advise Provincial Party Committee to issue Resolution No. 13 on mobilizing all resources to build a synchronous transport infrastructure system serving industrial and urban development in key economic regions. In particular, roads connecting industrial zones and clusters such as Luong Hoa - Binh Chanh and Huu Thanh - Tan Buu roads will mobilize investment from enterprises. In addition, the Department also regularly coordinates with units and local authorities to carry out site clearance to implement traffic projects, especially key traffic projects.

At the supervision, members of the delegation suggested that Department of Transport continue to pay attention to simplifying administrative procedures, building a road system investment roadmap to meet the requirements of socio-economic development, handling violations of overloaded vehicles, maintenance and repair of current roads, etc.

Speaking at the supervision, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council – Mai Van Nhieu acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the transport sector in improving the investment environment. In particular, he highly appreciated the industry's good implementation of traffic planning for socio-economic development, especially the work of advising Provincial People's Committee in mobilizing resources for investment in transport infrastructure, especially traffic works connecting regions.

In addition, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu also suggested Department of Transport continue to clearly define goals and tasks, raise awareness and responsibility in building solutions and plans to improve the investment environment. In particular, it is necessary to solve transportation problems such as transportation costs, build a synchronous, smooth, open and transparent transport network for people and businesses to easily access. At the same time, Department of Transport needs to study and propose a plan to develop the waterway transport network, especially the routes connecting industrial zones and clusters as well as ensuring a traffic safety corridor in order to build a synchronous, modern and connected transport network to serve socio-economic development and investment attraction./.
