Groundbreaking ceremony for Ring Road 3 project of Ho Chi Minh City, section through Long An province

On June 30, People's Committee of Long An province solemnly held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Ring Road 3 project of Ho Chi Minh City, the section through Long An. On the side of Central leaders, there were former Standing Deputy Prime Minister - Truong Hoa Binh; Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi - Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Defense and Security; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don - former Deputy Minister of National Defense; Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee of National Assembly - Hoang Van Lien; Vice Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee of National Assembly - Nguyen Tuan Anh; Deputy Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs - Le Tan Dung.

On the side of Long An province, there were Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of  Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc; Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly Delegation - Nguyen Thanh Hai; Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut and former leaders of the province, departments, branches and localities.

Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City is a key national traffic project, passing through 4 localities including Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An. The project's phase 1 has the length of more than 76km, with total investment of nearly 75,400 billion VND. In particular, the section through Long An is more than 6.84km long, with a total investment of more than 4,200 billion VND with 2 component projects (including construction, compensation - support - resettlement of the section through Long An province). The project has the starting point at the boundary of Ho Chi Minh City - Long An, the end point at the intersection between the Ben Luc - Long Thanh highway and the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway (passing through the area of Ben Luc district).

The project is expected to officially open to traffic in 2025, playing a strategic role in forming a transport network linking the Southeast region with the Mekong Delta region, promoting the effectiveness of invested projects, creating new development space, exploiting the potential of land use, building a modern and sustainable urban area, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut suggested that Ben Luc District People's Committee continue to focus on drastically implementing the remaining volumes of site clearance work, especially the implementation of compensation, support and resettlement policies for households to be consistent with reality and in accordance with the law. Regarding quality management and construction progress, Department of Transport should closely follow and be drastic in operating and managing quality, progress and investment capital, ensuring strict compliance with the law; develop an implementation plan with a scientific method and strictly implement regulations and standards as well as coordinate well with central ministries and branches throughout the project implementation process.

To accomplish the set goals, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested that construction, consulting, supervision and design units mobilize modern machinery and equipment, and select experienced human resources, ensure technical and artistic, complete and put the works into operation on schedule.

Director of Provincial Department of Transport - Dang Hoang Tuan, representative of component 7 project  investor, sincerely thanked central and local agencies for directing, monitoring, supporting and removing obstacles. During the implementation of the project, contributing to ensuring the progress required by the Government. He also committed to working with construction units, design consultants, and supervision consultants to do their best for the best quality, volume, reasonable cost so that in October 2025, the expressway will be completed and in 2026, the whole project will be put into operation.

Representatives of the construction contractors of Ring Road 3 project of Ho Chi Minh City, the section through Long An donate 1 billion VND to Nguyen Huu Tho Study Promotion Fund and 1 billion VND to Fund for the Poor in Long An province.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Ring Road 3 project of Ho Chi Minh City, the section through Long An, is an important event, meeting the expectations of the Party Committee, the Government, and the people of localities which the route passes in particular and the whole Southern Key Economic Region in general. Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3 will open up space for the development of industrial corridors, connecting many seaport clusters, reducing travel time,etc. The project is expected to create regional linkages, promoting the development of the Southern Key Economic Region.

On this occasion, the construction contractors of Ring Road 3 project of Ho Chi Minh City, the section through Long An, gave symbolic gifts of 1 billion VND to Nguyen Huu Tho Study Promotion Fund and 1 billion VND to Fund for the Poor of Long An province./.

The Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City project has a total length of 76.34km, passing through 4 provinces, including Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Long An, divided into 8 component projects. Total investment is 75,378 billion VND. The section through Long An is more than 6.84km long, with a total investment of more than 4,200 billion VND with 2 component projects including construction and compensation - support - resettlement of Ring Road 3.
