Long An: 2019 is breakthrough year in compensation, site clearance and resettlement
Secretary of Party Committee, Chairman of People's Council of Long An Province - Pham Van Ranh directed that 2019 was a breakthrough year in compensation, site clearance and resettlement at the symposium on this issue held by the Provincial Party Committee on March 8. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Duoc and leaders of departments, sectors, districts and cities in the province attended the symposium.
Many opinions and reports were presented at the symposium by leaders of sectors and localities on problems in implementing the compensation, site clearance and resettlement such as compensation prices, lateness in compensation, many projects compensated in a long time, investors not implementing projects, etc. Many opinions focused on analyzing and evaluating, clarifying the causes and limitation on the responsibilities of the sectors and localities in performing their tasks.

The results and progress of dealing with ground clearance were still done slowly and long-lasting by some sectors and units.

At this symposium, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee requested that units, localities and executive committees of the party hierarchy frankly recognized the limitations. Since then, solutions have been implemented and corrected to create a transformation in the coming time. 2019 will be a breakthrough year in compensation, site clearance and resettlement.
He asked the provincial People's Committee to assign and specify tasks and direct drastically for each department, sector and locality in the implementation of compensation, site clearance and resettlement. The key projects need to clearly identify requirements and set the time for implementation. Projects must be transparent about planning, implementation schedule and progress so that people can monitor to avoid long-lasting price appraisal and distraint.
Besides, the whole political system must take part in propaganda on compensation, site clearance, resettlement which creates smooth understanding and consensus to implement the project. To continue strengthening and consolidating the Land Clearance Board and the force of distraining and applying land compensation prices to meet the task requirements, it must be professional, objective and honest in performing tasks. The participants must have proper roles when conducting to determine and appraise compensation prices for land clearance.
In addition, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also noted that we must regularly review investors implementing projects; If the project is carried out slowly, deliberately, long-lasting and causing pressing, a solution must have been done. Real estate is paid attention and directed, controlled and handled violations strictly. The Secretary and Chairman of People's Committees at district and commune level must well meet and talk dialogue with the people. Through these, the legitimate requirements of the people must be resolved quickly and promptly.
