Long An achieved many outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year
On August 20, the People's Committee of Long An province held a conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year and deploy tasks for the 2024-2025 school year in both offline and online forms with 15 districts, towns and cities.

In the 2023-2024 school year, with high determination and great efforts, the provincial Education and Training sector completed its tasks and solutions and achieved many outstanding achievements.
The whole province had 26 students winning prizes in the National High School Excellent Student Competition with 2 second prizes, 7 third prizes, 17 consolation prizes; 2 students won second prizes in the National Science and Technology Competition; 1 student won the encouragement prize in the Vietnamese Proficiency Contest (national level); the high school graduation result reached 99.8%; etc.

Participating in the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Long An won 35 Gold Medals, 32 Silver Medals and 62 Bronze Medals, helping Long An rank 9th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
In particular, the province has 2 12th grade students, Vo Thi My Tien and Tran Thi Nhi Yen, who brought home many national Gold Medals and achieved high results at the Seagame. For the first time, Long An has 2 out of 16 Vietnamese athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The scale of education in the province continues to be arranged, consolidated and improved in terms of quality of activities. Teaching facilities and equipment are enhanced.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the whole province has 591 educational institutions from preschool to general education (of which, 558 are public educational institutions, 33 are non-public educational institutions). By the end of the second quarter of 2024, the whole province has 73.14% of schools from preschool to general education meeting national standards.
In addition to the above achievements, the provincial Education and Training sector still has some limitations. That is, the recruitment of teachers and staff at all levels is still difficult, the whole province lacks 1,220 teachers and 349 staff; career guidance and student orientation have not achieved the expected results; the rate of qualified teachers is still low; school violence, social evils, and law violations tend to increase; etc.

At the ceremony, 16 collectives received the Emulation Flag from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their leading achievements in the emulation movement in the 2023-2024 school year; 2 students won the Second Prize in the National Science and Technology Competition; 5 students with high scores in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam and 8 students who won Gold Medals in the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival were honored and received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In addition, the Provincial Association for Education Promotion presented gifts to 10 students who won prizes in the Regional Youth Informatics Competition in the 2023-2024 school year.
