Long An attends Vietnam Investment Environment Forum in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan

At the forum, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam gave a speech introducing an overview of the socio-economic situation of Long An province, the strengths of investment attraction and especially the investment situation of Long An province to local Japanese businesses.

Accordingly, Japan is currently the 4th country among 36 countries and territories having investment projects in Long An with 130 projects, total registered capital of over USD 480 million. These projects not only contribute positively to the local socio-economic development but also bring the image of the country and the Japanese people closer to the people in Long An province.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam, in the current period, the government of Long An province is focusing on reforming administrative procedures, investing in infrastructure development, training human resources of suitable quality to better meet the needs of international investors in general and Japan in particular. Long An's goal is to become an industrially developed province and one of the important production centers of the southern region of Vietnam. In particular, the locality especially emphasized the role of the Japanese business community in the process of accompanying Long An province to realize this goal. The Long An provincial government is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for Japanese businesses to study, invest and do business locally.

Vietnam Investment Environment Forum in Kanagawa is an activity in the event "Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa" (from 9 to 11 September 2022) co-ordinated by Kanagawa Prefecture (Japan) with the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan jointly organized. This year, after a 2-year hiatus due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was held again with the attention of a large number of people and business community of Kanagawa prefecture. It is known that in the previous 5 times, the event has attracted the participation of about 1,600,000 visitors.

On the sidelines of the forum, the delegation of Long An province also had a courtesy meeting with the Governor of Kanagawa province - Yuji Kuroiwa. At the meeting, Mr. Yuji Kuroiwa said that Long An is a potential investment destination for businesses in Kanagawa prefecture. Up to now, there have been 3 projects invested by enterprises from Kanagawa prefecture in Long An province. In the coming time, he hopes that Long An province will continue to coordinate with Kanagawa prefecture to promote and bring more Kanagawa businesses to invest in Long An as well as support the projects of Kanagawa enterprises that have been operating locally.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Thanh Hai thanked the Governor for organizing the event and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese localities to contact and meet the Japanese business community in Kanagawa prefecture. He affirmed that Long An province will fully support the activities of Kanagawa businesses is investing in locally.

On this occasion, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee invited the Governor of Kanagawa prefecture to visit and work in Long An on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2023./.
