Long An Fatherland Front holds consultation to prevent and fight Covid-19 epidemic

On March 25, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province held a conference on preventing and fighting Covid-19 epidemic with religions in the area.

At the conference, Deputy Director of Department of Health - Bui Quoc Dung updated some latest information on the situation and the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic. Accordingly, the province has not recorded positive cases with Covid-19. 

By 15:00 on March 23, there were 1,990 quarantined cases (including 1,563 people for local quarantine and 427 people for concentrated isolation). In addition, the province received 8 people who completed isolation in the Northern provinces to the locality.

Although there has been no case of illness, the treatment facilities are ready for personnel, facilities, equipment, supplies, personal protective clothes and taking testing samples. To date, 17 samples have been collected (15 negative samples, 2 samples awaiting results).

In the context of the increasingly complicated situation of Covid-19 epidemic, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province issued a guiding letter on preventing and controlling epidemic in the system. The Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations have many practical activities, actively responding to, coordinating in propagating and raising awareness for union members, associations and people.

At the same time, people are propagandized and mobilized the to join hands in preventing and fighting against epidemics. First of all, they protect themselves; do not buy stockpiles that destabilize the market; do not provide untested information causing confusion public opinion; limit traveling to epidemic areas, gathering crowds to avoid the spread of epidemics.

In addition, he also hoped that religious organizations calling for dignitaries, staff and religious followers to proactively notify and participate in quarantine at the prescribed time after returning from epidemic areas or having contact, having disease manifestations to be monitored, inspected and treated promptly, determined not to let anyone die from the Covid epidemic./.
