Long An has not detected banned substances in animal farming

According to the People's Committee of Long An province, from the end of 2018 until now, the province has not detected banned substances (Salbutamol) in samples at ranches, slaughterhouses and cattle transport places.

In 836 samples (390 ones of 13 slaughterhouses, 200 ones of 5 cattle transport places and 246 ones of 82 ranches), no salbutamol was detected in the samples.

The authorities also coordinated with the Department of Livestock Husbandry - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to check 22 animal feed samples at production and business organizations as well as breeding households in the province. As a result, no positive sample was detected.

In addition, the use of sedative drug at slaughterhouses has been drastically checked. The inter-branch delegation tested 54 samples of pig urine. Accordingly, there were 42 negative ones and 12 positive ones.

Functional agency required veterinary team to keep these pigs for testing again to be allowed to slaughter. In the second time, all samples were negative for sedative drug./.
