Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh highly appreciated the Association's contributions to the socio-economic development process of Long An province over the past time. With the results achieved by the business and business community, he believes that, in the new term, the Association continues to develop in both quality and quantity, make the Association a common home of the business community; support each other for development; call businesses to invest in the province to develop together. In particular, the Association needs to continue to coordinate with local authorities to well implement the improvement of the business investment environment, the bridge between local governments and the business community; gather the strength of enterprises to work together effectively, and contribute to creating a driving force for socio-economic development in the province.

Currently, Long An province has more than 11,000 registered enterprises with a total registered capital of nearly 300,000 billion VND. Enterprises in the province have successfully implemented policies on industrial promotion, agricultural extension, promoting the development of tourism and service industries, developing the domestic market, implementing the campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese goods”.

According to the Association's Executive Board, the majority of businessmen, dynamic businesses, a sense of social responsibility, gradually improving the prestige, brand and creating product value chains in the region and the world in the past term. Since then, they asserted a pioneering and first role on the front of economic development, contributing positively to the overall development of the province.

However, in the process of operation, the Association also faced many difficulties because businesses spent a lot of time to strengthen internal power, efforts to integrate and build businesses to overcome difficulties, stand firmly and develop. Therefore, the time for development and association is still little.

Currently, the Association has more than 200 official members, working in many different industries in the province. The Congress negotiated and elected the Executive Committee with a new term of 34 members. Mr. Vo Quoc Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dong Tam Joint Stock Company was re-elected Chairman of LBA for the 3rd course, term 2019 - 2024.

Mr. Vo Quoc Thang said that the Congress agreed to build directions and tasks on the basis of "Solidarity - Development - Integration" as a key role for the action motto in the new term. The Association determined that it would continue to innovate strongly and strengthen the association to gather business teams in the province; sharing community responsibility, solidarity, and support each other for development.

The Association aims to develop more than 250 new businesses, by the end of the term to increase the total to 500 members; 6 new branch associations or branch groups; organize meetings between members and provincial leaders; exchanging and connecting between member enterprises of Long An province and other provinces; and organize social security activities.

On this occasion, the Association awarded 200 million VND in support to the Fund for the Poor through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An Province and 500 million VND, equivalent to 100 grants for poor patients being treated at Cho Ray Hospital, with total value of 700 million VND./.
