Long An People's Council holds thematic meeting to pass 29 important resolutions

52 out of 55 delegates of the provincial People's Council attended the meeting. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh and 2 Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Thanh Cang, Mai Van Nhieu chaired the meeting.

Through discussion, close consideration, adherence to practice, compliance with legal regulations for submissions, draft resolutions, and verification reports, the Provincial People's Council highly unanimously approved resolutions on the policy for investing important, dynamic and connected traffic infrastructure works and projects; on the policy investing works and projects of the health sector at the provincial and district levels, drug research establishments, martyrs' cemeteries; etc.

In addition, the Provincial People's Council passed a resolution group on approving the planning scheme, adjusting the construction zoning planning with scale 1:2,000 of industrial zones; approving the policy investing the project of building commercial houses in the new urban area in Ben Luc district; decided to change the land use purpose, recover land, update land use planning to implement investment projects; decided to adjust the list of areas of socio-economic infrastructure.

The recently passed resolutions are of great significance for attracting investment, completing transport infrastructure and ensuring social security of the province in the coming time.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Council requires the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Committees of the People's Council and each member of the Provincial People's Council to strengthen monitoring activities, closely coordinating with the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies in concretizing and implementing the resolutions; they also actively propagated and mobilized people to contribute to bringing the resolution to life and promoting their efficiency.

At the meeting, the provincial People's Council agreed to terminate the duties of the IXth provincial People's Council deputies according to their wishes for Mr. Nguyen Van Tao and Mr. Vo Van Hy; dismissing the position of Member of the Provincial People's Committee term IX for Mr. Le Hong Nam - former Director of the Provincial Public Security (due to changing his position) and Mr. Le Minh Duc - former Director of the Department of Industry and Trade (due to his retirement); electing additional members of the provincial People's Committee term IX for Colonel Lam Minh Hong - Director of the Provincial Public Security and Mr. Nguyen Anh Viet - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh proposed the Provincial People's Committee and all levels and branches to continue efforts, strive more, overcome difficulties and challenges, determine to complete at the highest and most quality level of socio-economic development targets and tasks in 2020 and the whole 5-year period 2016 - 2020, establishing achievements to celebrate the XIth Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, towards the XIII National Party Congress./.
