Long An province and Ho Chi Minh city promote trade cooperation
In recent years, Long An province and Ho Chi Minh City have cooperated in many fields, including connecting agricultural product trade. Trade promotion activities between the two localities have created conditions for enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province to promote their products, find new partners to help expand the consumption market, and bring products closer to domestic and foreign consumers.
Long An Province and Ho Chi Minh City regularly coordinate to organize trade promotion activities and major events
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Long An Province, every year, the two localities sign and implement an agreement on cooperation in developing industry and trade. In addition, the two localities regularly coordinate, exchange information, and support the implementation of many activities such as trade promotion, trade connection, product consumption linkage, major, specialized and international events; etc with a frequency of 5-10 events/year. Thereby helping businesses promote products and develop exports.
Currently, many agricultural products of the province participate in and maintain supply to major distribution channels in Ho Chi Minh City such as Binh Dien wholesale market (about 200 tons/night); Hoc Mon wholesale market (about 140-160 tons/night); supermarkets, restaurants, convenience store chains, etc.
The Department of Industry and Trade and the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion of Ho Chi Minh City regularly provide information and introduce the connection of goods sources of enterprises in the province with domestic and foreign units and enterprises in many fields: goods, logistics, etc.; support enterprises in the province to participate in trade promotion programs abroad; facilitate enterprises in the province to participate in the market stabilization program of Ho Chi Minh City; promptly orient and inform regulations on food safety control when supplying goods to the Ho Chi Minh City market.
Many large enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City have invested in factories, production facilities, developed distribution facilities, helping to effectively connect and cooperate from purchasing, consuming products, and implementing market stabilization in the locality.
To date, the province has 279 convenience stores (Bach Hoa Xanh, Dien May Xanh, The Gioi Di Dong, Avakids, San Ha, Winmart); 45 private convenience stores (Salon Auto, Co.op Food, Con Cung). In addition, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation has also come to learn about logistics investment in Ben Luc district.
Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Long An province - Chau Thi Le said: “The Department has signed a memorandum of understanding with EB Services Company Limited (EBS) - representative of Central Retail and OSB Technology - representative of Alibaba.com e-commerce platform on researching and implementing projects in Long An province, promoting trade, connecting the consumption of goods to the distribution system of enterprises. To date, 24 enterprises of the province are cooperating with Central Retail Vietnam; 30 enterprises participate in the cross-border e-commerce platform Alibaba.com”./.
