Long An Provincial People's Council approves resolution on Covid-19 prevention

The 19th session was held online at 16 end-point bridges throughout the province. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh and 2 Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Thanh Cang and Mai Van Nhieu chaired the session.

The Provincial People's Council passed 25 resolutions, including decision on changing the purpose of using rice land, recovering land, changing the purpose of using production forests, updating the list of land use planning; decision on investment policy and adjustment of investment policy on works and projects of residential areas, border residential clusters; projects on riverbank erosion protection, embankments, important road projects, and so on.

In addition, the provincial People's Council decided to allocate the plan of public investment capital in 2020 from the salary reform source and assigned a mechanism to the Provincial People's Committee to decide the investment policy of some Group C projects; decided the expense level for celebrating the elderly and sports activities; assigned the plan of isolation beds and sickbeds at health facilities to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

The newly approved resolutions were very important and urgent. Therefore, at the request of the Provincial Standing People's Council, after the session, for public investment, the Provincial People's Committee should continue to report to receive support from the Central, urgently complete procedures to send to the Central. Regarding issues under the authority of the province, the provincial People's Committee urgently has a specific plan to comply with regulations timely and effectively.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh asked the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Boards of the People's Council and each delegate of the Provincial People's Council to strengthen supervision and close coordination with the provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies in concretizing and implementing the resolutions; actively propagate and mobilize the people to join hands to bring the resolutions into the life.

At the session, in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the provincial Standing Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council contributed to the Covid-19 prevention and drought, saltwater intrusion. The provincial Standing People's Council wished this meaningful activity would continue to be strongly spread among the community.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh asked the Provincial People's Committee to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic; immediately carry out policies for supportive people and businesses, especially the poor, unemployed workers, etc.

He emphasized that the provincial People's Committee, branches and levels must be consistent in awareness and action to succeed in epidemic prevention and implementation of socio-economic development tasks. Each delegate of the provincial People's Council has to propagate to their relatives, voters and people to seriously implement the direction and requests of the authorities to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic./.
