The group visited and offered incense at the Monument Park "Loyal, resilient, all people fight the enemy" in Long An on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the liberation of the South and unification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024).

Here, the group was guided to visit and introduce the Monument Exhibition House - a place preserving many images, artifacts, and documents vividly portray the loyalty and bravery, the united, clever, creative, tenacious, indomitable spirit of the entire Long An people in the resistance wars, therby conducting many resounding victories, contributing to liberating the South and unifying the country.

Ending the exchange at Monument Park, the Consulate General of India, VIFA, LUFO went to Can Giuoc district and visited Long An International Port. Vice Chairman of Can Giuoc District People's Committee - Huynh Minh Tri attended the meeting. On the Long An International Port side, there were Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dong Tam Central Joint Stock Company - Vo Quoc Loi and General Director of Long An International Port Joint Stock Company - Le Minh Phuc.

On behalf of the leaders of Can Giuoc district, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Giuoc district - Huynh Minh Tri informed: "Can Giuoc has a favorable geographical location, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City and is located in the planning of the high technology application agricultural area of Long An province, has the potential to develop urban agriculture in the direction of high technology, quality and safety. The agricultural and fisheries sectors have important developments in recent year, step by step implement intensive farming , increase crops and transform the structure of crops and livestock towards diversification, improving productivity and quality, contributing to increasing production value per farming unit.

Forms of agricultural production organization are focused on in the direction of strengthening production linkage along the value chain. The district's economic structure is changing positively in the direction of reducing the proportion of the Agriculture sector, gradually increasing the proportion of Industry - Construction and Trade - Services to increase economic efficiency, increase people's income, improve people's lives, and reduce the poverty rate.

In particular, Can Giuoc district has Long An International Port, which welcomes thousands of domestic and foreign ships with millions of tons of export and import goods. Notably, the port has successfully received and unloaded many ships with a capacity of over 50,000 DWT. Long An International Port is expected to become an import and export hub for the entire Mekong Delta region."

On this occasion, the delegation not only looked back at the tenacious fighting history of Long An's army and people in the struggle to protect the Fatherland but also orients to the future of Long An's products, strengths, and development. Today's purpose for inviting the Consulate General Indian Embassy to Long An is  strengthening people-to-people exchanges, solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and India through introducing the beauty and strengths of a Ho Chi Minh City's gateway locality - Long An province. An and Can Giuoc district. We have complete confidence that the number of international ships docking at Long An International Port will rapidly increase, thereby increasing trading with the world, including the Republic of India.

After the VIFA delegation's trip to India last April, I realized that there is a need for a lot of cooperation and connection in agricultural development. With the attention of the Indian Consul General, I believe that the above aspiration will become reality in the very near future."

Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City - Madan Mohan Sethi shared: "I have been in Vietnam for more than 3.5 years. I see a very developed Vietnam in all fields and certainly Vietnam will become an economic powerhouse in Southeast Asia. Our India are also developing very fast, every day there is an Indian success story. I also know that in Long An there are many projects and industrial parks calling for investment and looking forward to cooperating with businesses around the world, including India. Recently, our Consulate General received many proposals on cooperation, training, research, governance and smart business. Therefore, I also hope that Can Giuoc district and units in Long An province will share proposals for connecting with companies in India.

Especially in the port sector, India has large corporations that are paying close attention to cooperation in Vietnam. In this area, we look forward to opportunities for more in-depth discussions. I will definitely come back this year to exchange and open up opportunities for cooperation with Long An province, especially with Indian investors."

Two years ago, the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City came to Long An International Port with the Prime Minister of Vietnam. Witnessing the port's outstanding changes in methodical investment, the world's most advanced modern equipment, and impressive exploitation capacity, he highly appreciated the position, strategy and development vision of Long An International Port; along with connection proposals to open up opportunities for cooperation between the Port and Indian businesses in the future.

Expressing excitement in the warm welcome of Long An province and Long An International Port, in response to the hospitality, the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City said: "Every day there are about 1,000 Indian guests coming to Vietnam, up to 20% of them are business guests. They expressed their excitement to connect and exchange between businesses. I am very happy to accept the proposal from Long An International Port and the leaders of Can Giuoc district to arrange a business trip to India and expand mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities."

LUFO Chairman - Nguyen Huu Ngoc said that Vietnam and India have officially established diplomatic relations since 1972, the bilateral relationship between the two countries was upgraded to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" in 2016. The friendship and cooperation relationship between Vietnam and India is becoming stronger and deeper, with effective cooperation in all fields.

In that spirit, LUFO Chairman - Nguyen Huu Ngoc wishes and proposes that the Consulate General of India, the Indian Business Association, and VIFA strengthen people-to-people exchange activities and connections.

On this occasion, Chairman of LUFO - Nguyen Huu Ngoc would like to thank the Consul General and Ambassador of India for sponsoring the project to build 3 classrooms in Moc Hoa district, operated since September 2023 with the amount of non-refundable money of 1,243,500,000 VND.
