From the regular meeting at the end of 2023 to June 10, 2024, the Provincial People's Council held 3 meetings and issued 70 resolutions.

In particular, the preparation of content and organization of meetings continues to have innovation and positive changes and promote the role of the Committees of the Provincial People's Council and People's Council delegates in discussing and collecting comments at meetings with local authorities.

To organize scientific and effective meetings, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council convenes, plans the program, chairs the meetings and sessions, and promotes democracy and intelligence of the delegates; directs the reception, explanation, reviews and completes draft resolutions to meet quality requirements, provides delegates with a lot of information to research, makea appropriate choices when voting and questioning in accordance with regulations associated with the application of information technology in activities serving the Provincial People's Council meetings.

From the regular meeting of the end of 2023 to June 10, 2024, the Provincial People's Council organized 3 sessions of the People's Council, including 1 regular session and 2 thematic sessions, promulgating 70 important resolutions on socio-economic, industrial development, human resources and activities.

Immediately after the meetings, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council promptly completed and issued meeting minutes, resolutions, and reports to competent authorities for approval of leadership positions of the Provincial People's Committee according to regulations; closely coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to effectively deploy and implement resolutions passed by the Provincial People's Council.

In addition, supervision activities continue to receive attention from the Provincial People's Council, focusing on quality, pressing issues that are of concern to voters. During survey and supervision activities, the Provincial People's Council proactively organizes surveys to understand the situation, resolve voters' opinions and recommendations, and people's feedback on a number of issues that arise in the general tasks of local socio-economic development.

The monitoring, urging and supervision of the authorities when implementing resolutions and recommendations after supervision and questioning, the opinions and recommendations of voters are regularly and systematically monitored. In addition, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Provincial People's Council also performed well the activities of organizing citizen reception, handling applications and letters, and supervising the resolution of complaints and denunciations; Innovating voter contact activities, especially successfully organizing the first Voters' Constitution to Build Long An Hometown campaign, creating an important premise for the Provincial People's Council to continue expanding, spreading, and propagating strong inspiration for the campaign to all classes of people inside and outside the province.

Focus on performing key tasks in the last 6 months of the year

According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Council, although in the first 6 months of 2024, the activities of the Provincial People's Council achieved many outstanding results, there are still certain limitations such as the progress of implementing some contents according to the anual public program has not been guaranteed according to the expected plan; some commitments after answering questions have not been resolved promptly and fully; some content presented at the meeting did not ensure progress, affecting the verification work of the Committees of the Provincial People's Council and the research and comments of the Provincial People's Council delegates before voting to pass the resolution.

From that reality, according to Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu, in the last 6 months of 2024, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council strives to organize, deploy and fully implement the contents according to public programs and plans, ensuring practicality, innovation and efficiency. In particular, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will closely coordinate with the People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and relevant agencies to deploy and implement the Resolutions passed by the Provincial People's Council at the regular meeting in mid-2024 and thematic sessions; focus on propagating, mobilizing and disseminating the content of the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, especially the Resolution on striving to complete the tasks and goals of socio-economic development in 2024 to all strata of people in the province, achieving high results.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will proactively coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to prepare content and organize well the regular meeting at the end of 2024 and thematic meetings to institutionalize and promptly deploy the policies, resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and decisions on important and urgent issues related to the socio-economic development of the province; coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee to give opinions to resolve issues arising between the two meetings under the authority of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council as well as effectively deploy and implement the 2024 Supervision Program of the People's Council and Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, with the highest determination to successfully complete the task in 2024./.
