The Vietnamese official said that regarding policy, Vietnam has coordinated with the World Economic Forum to build an Industry 4.0 connection centre based in Vietnam, calling for the engagement of other countries in the development of the centre.
In terms of infrastructure, Vietnam will pilot 5G service in 2019 and share experience with other countries in developing the technology, he said, noting that Hanoi will host an ASEAN ministerial conference on 5G from March 21-22.
In order to develop information-communications technology through the “Make in Vietnam 4.0” programme, Vietnam has focused on developing Internet of Things and telecommunications devices, 5G chips, and monitoring cameras, he said.
The minister underlined Vietnam’s willingness to work with other ASEAN countries to set up factories for the production of the devices.
Digital Cambodia 2019, which will wrap up on March 17, is the biggest technology exhibition of Cambodia with the participation of leading ICT firms, including many Vietnamese representatives such as Metfone, VNPT, MobiFone, FPT and BKAV.
The event focuses on seeking measures for the development of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME), especially through mobile payment applications, and technology startups and education solutions.
The facilitation of startup in SMEs and education has been considered as the first step to promote startup in tourism, agriculture and health care.
Digital Cambodia 2019 is part of efforts for Cambodian Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to complete its startup ecosystem by the first quarter of this year.
The event is organised by Cambodia’s National Institute of Post, Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology with the fund of technology firms of Smart Axiata, Metfone and Huawei./.
