At the meeting, representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development briefly reported the results of implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas in 2021-2025 period and the development of OCOP products in the province.

Up to now, the whole province has 118 out of 161 communes met the new rural standards of rural, of which, there are 28 communes met the advanced rural standards; 4 district-level units met the standards/completed the task of building new rural areas are Chau Thanh, Tan Tru, Kien Tuong town and Tan An city. Currently, the province is preparing documents and procedures to submit to the central government to recognize Can Duoc district as meeting new rural standards and Chau Thanh district as meeting advanced rural standards.

Regarding OCOP products, the province currently has 77 products recognized to meet OCOP standards, of which 26 products are 4-star and 51 are 3-star. OCOP products are mainly in food, herbal, souvenir, furniture, etc sections.
