Therefore, I make moon cakes according to customers’ orders in limited quantities. This year, I make about 100 cakes, price ranges from 40,000 to 70,000 VND each. Most of my customers are patrons, they buy cakes to eat or give their family members”.

Ms. Le Thi Phuong Thuy (Tan Tru District) said: “I bought handmade moon cake because of its unique taste and attractive design”.

Buying handmade moon cakes is quite easy, mainly through social networks. However, the food safety and hygiene of these cakes are not really guaranteed.

According to the Director of the Division of Food Safety and Hygiene of Long An Province - Doan Thanh Chien, at present, the Division cooperates with related branches to set up inspection teams to check the quality of moon cakes in this Mid-Autumn Festival.

He advises: “The authorities still have difficulties in thoroughly controlling the origin and quality of the moon cake materials, especially the handmade moon cakes. Therefore, consumers should be cautious in choosing these types of cakes to protect health for themselves and their families"./.
