National paragliding contest opens in Quang Ninh

The event, which is co-organised by the Vietnam Sports Administration and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, has attracted the participation of 81 paragliders from nine clubs nationwide.

The venues for the flights are in Vuon Cau hamlet in Son Duong and Deo Doc hamlet in Dong Lam commune.

The paragliders start in the area near the peak of a local mountain, then fly and land in a circle located in the campus of Son Duong commune People's Committee. They will compete in an accurate landing event for individuals (men and women) and double paragliding.

Held for the first time in Quang Ninh, the event aims to affirm the potential and advantages of Hoanh Bo district in adventure sports and tourism, and attract investors in local tourism projects towards long-term, sustainable development and creating special tourism products for the district.
