2023 is a pivotal year, creating momentum to accelerate the implementation of the targets set by the Resolution of 11th Provincial Party Congress. This is the year of breakthrough to complete the five-year plan 2021-2025. With the enthusiasm to welcome the spring, the spirit of determination and aspiration, all levels and branches join hands, forming a synergy to overcome difficulties and challenges, firmly on the journey to acchive specified target.

Long An International Port contributes to the economic development of the province

According to Director of the Department of Transport - Dang Hoang Tuan, with the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and the coordination of sectors and localities, the progress of the works according to the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress XI basically hit the plan. Over the past time, the industry has continued to strengthen the management, review the investment scale, choose suitable, quality and economical design solutions, call for investment, urge to speed up the progress. Since then, many works and projects have been formed, gradually building a synchronous transport infrastructure system, creating a driving force for the province's growth. However, the breakthrough projects are related to central agencies; the under construction projects meet obstructed ground, affecting the overall progress of the work; etc.

Key project of Tan An City Ring Road are focused on implementation

In 2023, the industry will continue to review difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of key and breakthrough projects for timely solutions. In the period of 2021-2025, the sector is tasked with implementing 3 key projects: Ring Road of Tan An City and the bridge over Vam Co Tay River (remaining section); National Highway 50B (clearance of the section from the beginning of the route to Vam Co Dong river); Provincial road 830E (section from expressway intersection to Provincial road 830 (Can Duoc district)). Works under the Breakthrough Program are focused on to build a synchronous transport infrastructure system for industrial and urban development in key economic regions of the province, including: Luong Hoa - Binh Chanh Street; Huu Thanh - Tan Buu street; Provincial road 826E (intersection with Provincial road 826C to Can Giuoc bridge); the road connecting the road leading to Rach Doi bridge to Provincial road 826E; Duc Hoa dynamic shaft; Tan Tap - Long Hau road (section from Ring Road 4 to Provincial road 830); upgrading and expanding Provincial road 824 (the section of Tua Mot junction to the canal bridge); intersection of Hung Vuong Street - National Highway 62 (Tan An City).

In addition to accelerating the progress of 8 projects in the breakthrough program, the sector continues to implement 3 key projects of the 11th Provincial Party Congress Resolution. The industry has gradually completed the bidding packages and works under the Ring Road project of Tan An City (completed 2 out of 6 bidding packages, the remaining 4 bidding packages are under construction), continue to mobilize the handover of the surface to the entangled bidding packages. The industry coordinated with the People's Committee of Tan An City to speed up the construction of the bridge over the Vam Co Tay River with the determination to open traffic in December 2023.

Accelerated from the beginning of the year

As spring has arrived at the alley, the atmosphere of preparing for Tet is more exciting. In the colorful picture of the new spring, people in new rural, advanced rural communes are more happy because the face of the countryside has changed, material and spiritual life has been improved. According to local instructions, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phat (Bang Lang hamlet, Tan Lap commune, Tan Thanh district) sowed the winter-spring rice crop for more than 10 days. Phat shared that the entire agricultural land area of the family is located in the dike. Last year the flood water receded slowly, so he sowed the seeds later than in some other places. As a new-age farmer, he and everyone else follow the instructions of the Agriculture industry, monitor and take care of rice through each stage with the hope of winning in the Winter-Spring crop.

In 2023, the province's Agriculture and Rural Development sector strives to achieve 2.7 million tons of rice

Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Thanh Truyen informed that in 19 targets of the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution in 2023, the Agriculture and Rural Development sector was assigned an average rice output of 2.7 million tons, in which, high quality rice accounts for 65%; communes meeting the standards of advanced rural areas reached 31.49% (with 2 communes meeting the standards of model rural areas); 60% of rural households use clean water;etc. To achieve the national target, the industry analyzes and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages and implements it at the beginning of the year with the highest determination. Accordingly, the industry continues to develop production associated with restructuring the Agriculture sector; focus on converting inefficient production land to other crops; apply production processes according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards to increase productivity and quality of agricultural products; guide and transfer science and technology to farmers. In order to prevent the situation of good harvest yet devaluation as well as the impact of the market and the 4.0 era, the industry propagates and guides farmers to change their thinking from agricultural production to agricultural economy.

At the same time, the industry has promoted propaganda and effective implementation of the campaign to build new rural areas, promoting the role of the people; maximize resources to implement the program. In 2023, the whole province strives to have 9 more communes meeting new rural standards; 12 communes meeting advanced rural standards; 2 communes achieving model rural areas and 1 more district meeting new rural standards, 1 district met advanced rural rural standards. In addition, the sector continues to implement the rural clean water and sanitation program for the period of 2021-2025.

More and more fiercely

The task in 2023 is very heavy, yet they open up many new opportunities for the development of the province.
