Commune forces help a little girl get rice

At 7 am on April 18, in My Hanh Nam commune, Duc Hoa district, another rice ATM was put into operation. The ATM is located next to Giong Lon road, near the center of the commune. The commune has mobilized 5 tons of rice to distribute to people right after it was opened.

According to Chairman of My Hanh Nam People's Committee - Phan Van Anh Phung, the commune will try to mobilize sponsors and businesses to support rice sources to maintain the rice ATM as long as possible.

“There are only 10 poor households in the commune, but there are many migrant workers in difficult circumstances. Therefore, with the slogan " In-need people receive, redundant people give". We do not distinguish local or elsewhere people, as long as it is fun to help those who are in need" - Mr. Phan Van Anh Phung said.

People come to receive rice in line, make sure the 2-meter distance 

Immediately after openingmany people came to receive rice in this morning. Each click, the ATM will release about 1.5 kilos of rice. To ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the commune People's Committee appoints youth and militia forces to guide people to line up, measure body temperature, request to wear face mask, keep a 2-meter distance and wash hands to kill bacteria. As noted by the reporter, it was quite serious and orderly when the rice ATM was opened in the morning, there was no crowded people.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Suong expressed: “In the past few days, I heard about the ATM giving free rice to poor laborers in the provinces so I wished I could have it in my locality, today, my wish has come truth. As one of the first people to receive the rice, my family was very happy thanks to the government and sponsors for their support”.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong shared: “My family has 4 people, my life is difficult, but it is even more deprived when my husband and I must halt to sell lottery tickets recently due to Covid-19 epidemic. This morning, I hear there is a rice ATM here, so I go here to pick it up. I move to tears thanks to the meaning and work of the government and sponsors. I hope that the rice ATM will continue to be opened in many places to help the poor”./.
