The conference was attended by Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Truong Hoa Binh, and member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Defence Minister, Sen. Lieut. Gen Phan Van Gian, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy PM, Truong Hoa Binh, spoke highly of the efforts made by the Ministry of Defence in coordinating and directing ministries, committees, branches and localities to carry out the tasks of defence in a serious and active manner, and create a basis for the Government to direct all sectors and branches in performing their socio-economic development tasks in combination with strengthening national defence and security.

He also urged the ministries and sectors at all levels to continue to effectively realise the Party's military guideline and carry out a complete survey on the production and repair technologies of enterprises in order to propose appropriate solutions to mobilise the potential and capabilities of the industry in the performance of defence tasks in the future./.
