At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut briefly presented the implementation of the 11th Party Congress' Resolution of the province, the socio-economic development in the 2021-2023 period, and some key tasks until the end of term.

In which, it is confirmed that, after more than 2 years of implementing the XIII Party Congress' Resolution and the 11th Provincial Party Congress' Resolution, the province's economic growth rate has been quite good. The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction. Investment in the agricultural sector, the agricultural development with high technology application in association with the restructuring of the agricultural sector achieved positive results. Industry and construction gradually recovered and developed. Investment attraction achieved positive results, especially FDI attraction. Trade - services have developed quite well and are constantly increasing. Budget revenue exceeded the annual estimate. Social security policies are fully and timely implemented, people's material and spiritual life continues to be improved.

At the same time, the province also requested the Prime Minister and central ministries and branches to support the establishment of Long An economic zone in Can Giuoc and Can Duoc districts; soon arrange funding to support affected households to set up border markers; focus on allocating capital sources for implementation of transport projects connecting the Mekong River Delta and Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region to the Central Highlands provinces and support investment capital for embankment projects to prevent and control landslides.

At the meeting, representatives of central ministries and branches also contributed many opinions, analyzed, evaluated, pointed out shortcomings, limitations and proposed solutions for Long An to overcome all difficulties and challenges, promote potentials and strengths, rise to rapid and sustainable development, especially realizing the Provincial Master Plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the province on its achievements, especially the successful organization of the conference to announce the provincial investment planning and promotion. He affirmed that Long An province has a very important strategic position, rich historical tradition, many innovative mechanisms and policies and great development opportunities. With the spirit, new way of doing things, solidarity, high determination, great efforts and drastic actions, the province has performed well in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic as well as changing direction in rapid and sustainable development to recover the economy after the pandemic, contributing to complete the tasks with the whole country in recent years.

Reviewing the achievements of Long An, the Prime Minister suggested that besides solutions and tasks in socio-economic development, the province needs to improve the leadership capacity and strength of the Party, therby building unity in the implementation of the Party's resolutions; ensure security - defense, social order and safety, build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

“The resolution is complete, but the province needs to concretize it to implement the 10-year strategy and 5-year plan, contributing to the implementation in Mekong Delta. We are doing well, the plans have been announced, the investment promotion is also good, but we need to have actual accomplishments to call it a success. After that, we must continue to have another success, another innovation, always uphold the heroic historical tradition of the homeland of Long An to develop upward, organize effectively the Resolutions of the Party and the laws of the State, making Long An develop quickly and sustainably", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized at the meeting.
