Project on IT application in State statistics system approved

The project aims to promote the application of information and communication technology in statistics in order to improve the quality of statistical information, and develop statistical activities in a sustainable manner to meet the increasing requirements in evaluating the situation and formulating strategies, plans, policies and solutions for socio-economic development by the Party and the State.

It also aims to strengthen the application of new achievements in the field of data science, IT, smart devices the implementation of methodological innovation, and the standardisation of the statistical processes in the State statistical system and statistical units of the ministries and sectors.

The project also integrates and uses administrative data to synthesise and compile state statistical information to reduce the costs of collecting information, while increasing the accuracy and timeliness of statistical information and enhance the sharing of statistical information to meet the diverse needs of society.

Accordingly, by 2020, the national statistical information system will be built and gradually connected with the statistical information system of ministries, branches and localities to develop a national statistical database based on the national population and housing census scheduled for April 2019. Other statistical censuses and data collected from ministries and sectors will be shared with the information system of the General Statistics Office./.
