Raising awareness of the political system in giving priority to use Vietnam goods

On August 6, the Steering Committee of the Campaign “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnam goods” in Long An province summarized 10 years of implementation in the period of 2009 - 2019. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can attended the conference.

Mr. Tran Van Can asked to improve the quality of propaganda and awareness of the whole political system in giving priority to use Vietnam goods

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can highly appreciated the role of the provincial and district Steering Committee members in proactively implementing the campaign in the province.

In the coming time, Mr. Tran Van Can asked the Fatherland Front and the socio-political organizations and sectors to improve the quality of propaganda and awareness of the whole political system in giving priority to use Vietnam goods; combine the content of the campaign with patriotic emulation movements; strengthen the prevention of smuggling, counterfeit and poor quality goods; encourage businesses to diversify products, expand markets, and develop Vietnamese brand goods.

In the past 10 years, the campaign has been made efforts by all levels and sectors in the province. Many contents of the campaign are integrated into patriotic emulation movements, the movement of “All people unite to build new-style rural and civilized urban areas,  the study and following of ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh. The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee builds many effective models.

According to Deputy Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An Province - Pham Ngoc Tiep, the campaign has created favorable conditions for the operation and development of the enterprises. Besides, enterprises and people have actively responded to it, raised awareness in the production and consumption of domestic goods.

However, in Long An province, the campaign still has some limitations. To be more specific, some local Party Committees have not taken notice of leading the campaign. Propaganda has been still sketchy and discrete so it has not been effective. The development of the Vietnamese brand has not been paid attention because most Vietnamese enterprises are small and medium-sized, their resources are limited.

In the past 10 years, the Department of Industry and Trade held 117 fairs of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas, industrial parks, border areas in the province. The struggle to prevent smuggling, counterfeit goods, trade fraud, poor quality goods has also been focused. From 2011 to 2018, functional agencies checked nearly 163,000 cases, handled more than 37,800 violations; the total amount of state budget revenue was over 1,135 billion VND.

Besides, the Agriculture sector also build 12 safe food production chains, including 6 vegetable chains, 2 chicken chains, 2 rice chains, 1 pork chain, and 1 seafood chain, contributing to promoting the province's agricultural products to consumers.

Collectives with outstanding achievements in implementing the campaign were awarded a certificate of merit

On this occasion, 10 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the campaign “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnam goods” were awarded a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Long An Provincial People's Committee./.
