It was reported to the Standing Deputy Prime Minister of the Government - Truong Hoa Binh; Ministries, central branches and Long An province, Chairman of the Board of Directors Dong Tam Group - Vo Quoc Thang said that the collective of officials and employees of Long An International Port still works hard to achieve encouraging results although affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020, with clearance of more than 100,000 tons of goods. Long An International Port signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the ports in the Mekong River Delta region and signed the implementation of the Wind Power Project in Vietnam.

Currently, the investor is expanding the scale of Long An International Port with a total length of nearly 2.4 kilometers, to accommodate ships of up to 100,000 DWT and turn Long An International Port into a versatile powerful seaport.

According to the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Van Duoc, Long An province has achieved and exceeded the plan 21 out of 25 socio-economic targets set out by 2020. In which, the total state budget revenue was 18,507,949 billion VND; reaching 110.4 percent of the central estimate and 109.63 percent of the estimate assigned by the provincial People's Council. At the event, Long An province also proposed the Ministry of Transport to pay attention to invest in upgrading NH 62 and NH N2 to contribute to promoting the economic development of the province.

Speaking at the visit session, the Minister of Transport - Nguyen Van The highly appreciated the efforts of Long An International Port's staff and employees. The Ministry of Transport is very interested in and creates favorable conditions for Long An International Port to develop more and more, contributing to promoting economic development in the Mekong River Delta region.

Regarding the proposal of Long An province, Minister Nguyen Van The noted and also suggested that the province need to plan the transport system development in accordance with the province's development in the coming time./.
