Tan Thanh: Rice output to reach over 415,808 tons in 2019

Certificates of merit are presented to individuals and collectives with good achievements in agricultural production

In 2019, Tan Thanh district has a total sowing area of 77,159 out of 75,220 hectares, reaching 102 percent of the plan and the yield of 415,808 tons. In particular, the district implemented high-tech rice production with 31 models, with an area of over 1,680 hectares. Therefore, the area of high-tech application rice in the district are raised to 2,754.25 out of 4,000 hectares, contributing to the completion of the 2019 plan targets.

Currently, the whole district has over 1,125 hectares of fruit trees, of which mainly jackfruit, lemon, dragon fruit, etc.; vegetables and crops are over 2,140 hectares including lotus, watermelon, yam; aquatic products are over 1,338 hectares, and so on.

At the conference, many delegates raised difficulties in the production process such as: Some households were not aware of participating in high-tech application rice area; Some cooperatives have not operated effectively; unstable rice prices, complicated diseases; production linkages are weak, do not follow strict processes and contracts, and have not brought into play the effects of the chain of links; ...

For plan 2020, the sowing area of the whole district is nearly 72,000 hectares, with the output over 402,000 tons; the area of concentrated fruit tree is 1,220 hectares; the district develops the production link and builds a large 3,000-hectare field, with 50 fields.
