1. The 50th anniversary ceremony since Long An was conferred the title of "With loyalty and valiance, the whole people participate in fighting enemy" (on September 17, 1967- 2017)
The Central Committee for the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam decided to grant the flag with eight yellow letters of "With loyalty and valiance, the whole people participate in fighting enemy” to the Party, people and army of Long An province at the Second Congress of Heroes and Soldiers of South Vietnam on September 17, 1967.
This was one of the special landmarks of the revolutionary tradition of the people and armed forces of Long An province for national independence and freedom.
2. The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached 9.53 percent, surpassing its resolution target of 9.2 percent

3. The budget collection reached VND 12,135 billion
Deputy Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Mr. Do Huu Lam rewarded outstanding enterprises and individuals who successfully fulfilled their tax obligations in 2016.
In 2017, the province’s state budget collection reached over VND 12 trillion, surpassing the resolution target.
The revenue brought Long An to officially join in the domestic collection club of VND 10 trillion for the first time. It is considered as a landmark of Long An province in general and the tax sector in particular, helping the provincial tax sector to strive to complete its state budget collection estimates in 2018.

The Relics of Communist Party Committee and the Southern Resistance - Administrative Committee (1946-1949) have total land of nearly three hectares with its total investment capital of nearly VND 130 billion which was officially inaugurated on August 19, 2017.

The historical Revolutionary Monument covers an area of 98.25 hectares, in which the construction area was 20.20 hectares with its total investment capital of nearly VND183 billion and officially inaugurated on September 2, 2017.
5. The first batch of Vietnamese dragon fruit was exported to Australia
In September of 2017, Hoang Phat Company (Chau Thanh district) exported its first batch of dragon fruit to Australia (white-fleshed pitahaya) after many negotiations. This is a chance for Vietnamese dragon fruit to expand its consumption market, especially hard markets.
Up to now, the company has exported about 60 tons of Vietnamese dragon fruits to Australia and is expected to export 500 tons in 2018 to this market. Currently, the total area of dragon fruits in the province is about 9,100 hectares with a total output of 215,000 tons per year. And, 85 percent of dragon fruit was shipped to overseas markets as China, Japan, Thailand, United States of America, and Europe ..., and the remaining 15 percent consumed domestically in 2017.
6. Long An International Port exported the first batch of Vietnamese chicken to Japan
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development made an announcement at the international port of Long An (Can Giuoc district) on September 9, 2017, to export the first batch of Vietnamese chicken (about 300 to 400 tons) to Japan.
This special event is considered as the landmark of Vietnamese agriculture sector.
7. Basically solving the problem of water supplication for people’s production and daily life for people in lowlands
Clean water meets standards of the Ministry of Health from water supply projects for nearly 2,000 households in the lowland areas of the province.
In 2017, the province basically solved the problem of water supplication for people’s production and daily life in lowland areas such as Can Duoc and Can Giuoc, solving urgent issues for local people's daily life. Although the initial use of the population is low but significant, it is hoped to provide 100 percent of clean water for people in the upcoming time.
Currently, there are nearly 10 clean water supply projects for the people in low areas, and some water projects have been supplying to households. The remaining projects are accelerating to be completed in 2018.
8. A photobook exhibition on diplomatic trips of State President Truong Tan Sang (2011-2016)
The exhibition including 250 photos printed in Gian Thanh Son's book named “Vietnam's position" highlighting the country's diplomatic trip of State President Truong Tan Sang for a five-year term, from 2011 to 2016, and 50 photos of former President Truong Tan Sang extended his sentiment to Long An homeland.
9. Wharf No.2 - Long An International Port started construction
Wharf No.2 of Long An International Port began the construction on September 9, 2017.
Wharf No.2 project which has a length of 210 meters, is planned to construct during ten months and expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2018.
The project would receive huge ships with capacity of over 50,000 tons.
10. Put into operation of three district-level administrative centers to serve people.

In order to carry out good administrative reform, improve the service quality for organizations and individuals in implementing administrative procedures, the province decided to establish eight public administrative centers in districts, towns, cities including Can Duoc, Can Giuoc, Duc Hoa, Tan Tru, Thu Thua, Ben Luc, Kien Tuong town, Tan An city in 2017.
