The first meeting, the Xth Provincial People's Council is scheduled to be held on June 21, 2021, at the Hall of the Long An Party Committee.

At this meeting, the Provincial Election Committee will report on the summary of the election of deputies to the Provincial People's Council, session X, term 2021 - 2026, and announce the Resolution on confirming the delegates’ status to the Xth Provincial People's Council.

In addition, the Provincial People's Council will consider and decide on many important contents, including reports on personnel to elect key positions of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee; decide to establish the Committees and the number of members of the Committees of the Provincial People's Council for the term 2021 - 2026; decide on personnel to elect assessors of the provincial People's Court for the term 2021 - 2026; passed a resolution on the full-term working program of the Xth Provincial People's Council and the plan to organize the regular meetings in 2021 of the Xth People's Council.

The second meeting, the Xth Provincial People's Council, is expected to be held in 2 days (July 29 and 30, 2021), at the Hall of the Long An Party Committee.

At the second session (mid-year regular meeting 2021), the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will present a report on the operation of the first 6 months of the year and tasks for the last 6 months of 2021; a summary report on voters' opinions and recommendations before the Monday meeting; program of monitoring activities in 2022 of the Provincial People's Council; and at the same time promulgate the Project on improving the quality and operational efficiency of the Provincial People's Council, session X, term 2021 - 2026.

The Provincial People's Committee will submit to the Provincial People's Council reports on the direction and administration of the first 6 months of the year and the directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2021 and reports on the socio-economic development; the implementation of state budget estimates; capital construction investment progress; anti-corruption work; the practice of thrift and anti-waste; crime prevention and combat and law violations; progress and results of settlement of complaints and denunciations of citizens.

The Provincial People's Council will consider and pass a resolution on regulations on social assistance policies for social protection beneficiaries; the resolution approving the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025; Resolution on supplementing the planning of a new road parallel to National Highway 62; Resolution on policies to support, encourage and attract human resources in the health sector; Resolution on approving the Project on agricultural development with high technology application in association with restructuring the agricultural sector in the period of 2021 - 2025; etc.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council – Nguyen Van Duoc requested the Provincial People's Committee, relevant agencies and local press agencies to urgently prepare a plan to prepare well for the 2 meetings and publicly inform to voters throughout the province. The content of reports, submissions and draft resolutions must be carefully prepared, close to reality, ensure sufficient legal basis and in accordance with the legal process./.
