Winners of writing contest on reducing poverty honoured
Thirty-eight winners of the journalistic competition on reducing poverty during the 2016-2020 period were honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on October 12.

The ceremony was attended by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Central Steering Committee for National Target Programmes, Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, members of the CPV Central Committee, including Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affair Dao Ngoc Dung, Acting Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Thuan Huu, who is also Deputy Head of the PCC Communication and Education Commission, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association.

From hundreds of entries, the organising board selected 69 entries for the final round. The jury decided to award two A, nine B, 13 C, and 14 consolation prizes for 38 authors and author groups. One team prize went to Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister, Vuong Dinh Hue, emphasised that the award ceremony took place at a meaningful time as “Joining hands for the Poor – Leaving no one behind” is going to launch, while adding that this year’s contest featured more works of a higher quality.
The Deputy PM expressed his hope that in the journalistic competition on reducing poverty in 2019, the works would be more elaborate and closer to life.
The organising board presented two prizes to the series "New Ways to Reduce Poverty in Hau Giang" by Bich Chau from Hau Giang Newspaper (in category of print newspaper), and " Cunninghamia tree on Huoi Tu Mountain" to the group of authors Ha Thu - Van Duy - Hoang Huy from Nhan Dan’s Television Centre under Nhan Dan Newspaper./.
