21st Session of Provincial People's Council expected to pass 27 resolutions

In the first working day (July 8) of the 21st meeting, Long An People's Council session IX, term 2016-2021, discussed and considered many important issues on socio-economy.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council presented a summary report of voters' opinions and recommendations before the 21 meeting; reported on monitoring results "The observance of policies and laws on people's health care and implementation of the universal health insurance roadmap for the period 2016-2020 in the province"; and Program of supervision activities in 2021 of the provincial People's Council. 

The provincial People's Council reviewed and evaluated the results of the first 6 months of 2020 of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the committees of the People's Council, the People's Committee, the People's Court, the People's Procuracy, the Civil Judgment Execution Department of the province; results of settlement of citizens' complaints and denunciations and voters’ petitions; results of implementing the resolutions and conclusions on interrogation, supervision and explanation in 2019 and the first 6 months of 2020.

At the same time, the People's Council considered and assessed the results of the prevention and fight against criminals and law violations; anti-corruption work, thrift practice and waste combat; prevention of smuggling and trade frauds in the first 6 months of 2020; listened to the Fatherland Front work to participate in building the government; etc.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the committees of the provincial People's Council listened and explained the issues raised by delegates of the provincial People's Council through discussions and contributions before the meeting. In the hall, the delegates continued to discuss the issues with different opinions. In particular, the business support and people facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 epidemic and "black credit", online gambling are particularly interested by delegates.

On July 9, the meeting program will be continued, the Standing Committee of Provincial People's Council will present the results of resolving the voters’ opinions and proposals reflected before and after the 17th meeting (the meeting in late 2019). The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council will conduct the question and answer session (concentrated in groups of issues).

It is expected that the meeting will approve 27 resolutions on economy-society. Besides, the provincial People's Council will decide the personnel work according to its competence. The second working day program will be broadcast live on Long An Radio and Television Station./.
