26th session - final session of Long An Provincial People's Council term 2016-2021 opened

52 out of 53 delegates of the Provincial People's Council attended the meeting.  Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu chaired the conference. In addition, the former leaders of Long An province also attended the meeting.

Delivering the opening speech at the meeting, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that Long An Provincial People's Council, session IX, is constantly innovating and implementing completed a large volume of work, with many important contents, to meet the task requirements over the past 5 years, inheriting the achievements of the previous sessions. Since then, it affirms the position and role of the elected bodies and state power agencies in the locality and has made many positive and important contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

“The 26th session of the Provincial People's Council this time is an opportunity for us to evaluate and review achievements, achievements, limitations in the activities of elected bodies, administrative agencies, and Justice agencies. Then, it clearly analyzes the causes, drawing experienced lessons, proposing solutions to continue to innovate, improve quality and performance of agencies in the next term, contributing to implementing the Resolution of the XIIIth National Congress of the Party and Resolution of the XIth Provincial Party Congress”, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duocmphasized.

Delegates vote to approve the meeting agenda

According to the agenda of the 26th session, the Provincial People's Council focused on seriously and comprehensively reviewing the summary report of the term of the People's Council, the committees of the People's Council, the People's Court, the Provincial People's Court, the Provincial People's Court; listened to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province announcing its participation in government construction in the term 2016-2021. It also considers and decides to issue 16 topical Resolutions on socio-economic development in the period 2021 - 2025 related to the fields of investment, transportation, land, science and technology, sport, health, especially through the plan to buy and use Covid-19 epidemic vaccine in the province.

Many major issues will be decided at this session in all fields during the period 2021 – 2025

“The resolutions on socio-economy presented at this meeting are big, very important, urgent issues that have a direct impact on the people, related objects and the development of province next time. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council recommends that the Provincial People's Council members, when considering, follow the practical situation of the locality, the feasibility, the efficiency, the ability to balance the resources; actively exchange, discuss and raise opinions and points of clarification in order to make the right and appropriate decisions to meet the practical requirements and aspirations of the people”- Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc confirmed.

In addition, at this meeting, the Provincial People's Council performed personnel work according to its competence and announced decisions and rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in activities of the People's Council for the term. 2016 - 2021.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc suggested that the provincial People's Council members need to uphold their spirit, responsibility, promote democracy, clearly show their political opinions, bravery and their wisdom when they discuss, argue and decide important issues at the meeting. The submitting agencies, verification agencies and relevant agencies, especially the Provincial People's Committee, need to listen and seriously absorb the discussions of the provincial People's Council to explain and absorb satisfactorily, reasonable".
