6th Southern Summer Camp 2019’s Olympic competition: Long An high schools for gifted students won the first prize

On July 20, Organizing Board of the 6th Southern Summer Camp 2019 held the Closing ceremony. This activity is organized annually to improve knowledge, practicing life skills and social communication skills for students; improve management capacity and professional skills for teachers.

This year, Southern Summer Camp took place in 4 days (July 17-20) with the participation of 355 teachers and 530 students of 21 high schools for gifted students and high-quality high schools in 16 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region and the Southern provinces. The Summer camp includes many practical activities such as workshop on management high schools for gifted students and high-quality high schools; teacher training with experts.

Besides, students took part in Olympic competitions in cultural subjects; visited historical sites and Long An museum, and participated in picnic activities. In which, the most exciting activity was the "Ring the Golden Bell". Thanks to the contest, students learned about the history and culture of the Southern people and land as well as updated useful knowledge for learning.

Representatives of the Organizing Board awarded Gold Medals to the Olympic Competition winner

In the final result of the Olympic competition in cultural subjects, the Organizing Board awarded 431 medals to the most successful contestants (including 108 Gold Medals, 135 Silver Medals, and 188 Bronze Medals). In which, Long An high schools for gifted students won the first prize for the whole team with 27 medals (including 12 Gold medals, 11 Silver medals, and 4 Bronze medals)./.
