8th session of 9th People's Council Meeting of Long An province highlights urgency, responsibility, democracy, innovation

Provincial Secretary, Chairman of the People’s Council of Long An province Mr. Pham Van Ranh speaks at the closing ceremony of the eighth session of nineth People's Council Meeting of Long An province.

At the meeting, the provincial Party chief said that the Long An province People’s Council completed total working programs as well as valued comprehensively results, challenges, difficulties and limitations to show reasons as well as draw clearly responsibilities for implementation of Resolution of People's Council on social - economic development in 2017, putting forward major targets, responsibility and solution in 2018 including increase of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) up to 9.4 percent and creating a solid foundation in the following years. 

The Provincial People’s Council well completed its decisions on discussion, examination and agreement through 28 important resolutions on social-economic development, including balance-sheet, budget estimates and allocations of local budgets; defining the spending for the all-level budget’s environmental protection; public investment plan in 2018 and public investment plan adjustment in the term of 2016- 2020; science and technology development; list of projects related to change land usage purposes and land acquisition for investment projects; a number of policies to support agricultural production and high-tech application; allocation of local budgets to support children with their difficult lives… 

Additionally, the People’s Council of Long An province seriously surveyed via appreciating activities of the Standing People’s Council, agencies of the People’s Council, People’s Committee, People's Court, People's Prosecutor of the Province and relevant units; specially the Long An province People’s Council issued a resolution about building resettlement areas, interpellations relating health, education and public property purchase. 

Chairman Pham Van Ranh added that the delegates would meet deputies to announce results of the meeting, answer the deputies’ petitions, timely propose to the provincial people’s council, people’s committee and relevant agencies.

Besides that, the Standing People’s Council and its agencies will closely collaborate with the Provincial People’s Committee in resolution implementation.  

As the 2018 plan, the Provincial People’s Committee and relevant agencies will focus on strengthening economy restructure, raising quality of economic growth, administrative reform, improving business and investment environment attaching to Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) …

The Long An province’s leader also desired the whole political system including leaders, administrators, officials and staffs to affirm their roles and responsibilities on spirit foundation of innovation, responsibility, urgency and democracy.
