ASEAN diplomats offer New Year greetings to Vietnam

The ambassadors congratulated the Communist Party, the Government and  the people of Vietnam on the tremendous achievements in socio-economic development and foreign affairs in 2017, especially, the success of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in the central city of Danang.

They said they believe under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people will reap even more achievements, thus helping the country grow and flourish in 2018 and following years.

They pledged to fulfill their tasks to reinforce their countries’ relations with Vietnam and relations between ASEAN countries.  

The Party chief highlighted Southeast Asia’s steady development, peaceful environment, stability, and cooperation which have created favorable conditions for the development of regional countries and ASEAN as a whole. 

He attributed Vietnam’s great achievements in 2017 to the region’s peaceful and stable environment as well as effective cooperation and assistance from the international community, including ASEAN.

The Party leader expressed hope that with the joint efforts of the member countries, ASEAN will continue to make great strides in strengthening solidarity and inner bloc cooperation, expanding relations with external partners and promoting common development goals.
