Agricultural cooperatives are very concerned about finding businesses to connect agricultural consumption
The whole province has 225 cooperatives, including over 200 agricultural cooperatives. In recent years, the renovation and establishment of the new-style agricultural cooperatives have seen many positive changes. The agricultural cooperatives have effectively organized production and linked production with consumption.
The province has 16 pilot cooperatives on agricultural production with high technology application. In 2019, the province has established 4 typical agricultural cooperatives applying high technology on rice, vegetables, dragon fruits and beef cattle, including Hung Phu Cooperative (Vinh Hung district), Agricultural Production - Trade - Service Phuoc Thinh (Can Giuoc district), Duong Xuan dragon fruit cooperative (Chau Thanh district) and Hoa Khanh Dong Beef breeding Cooperative (Duc Hoa District). The application of high technology to production in agricultural cooperatives contributes to improving product quality, reducing production costs, ensuring traceability, food safety and environmental sanitation, increasing the competitiveness of agricultural products and increasing income for farmers.
Currently, the linkage of production and consumption of agricultural products still faces many difficulties. People do not dare to invest, so productivity and output are low and the efficiency is not commensurate. Many businesses have invested and had contracts to buy products, however, when traders pay higher prices, many people break the contracts. Therefore, businesses no longer want to invest in agricultural cooperatives.
Member of Phuoc Hiep Safe vegetable cooperative (Phuoc Hau commune, Can Giuoc district) said: Safe vegetables of all kinds of cooperatives are produced according to the VietGAP process. However, for many years, most products of the members are sold through traders, the cooperative has not had contracts with major dealers for members to feel secure in production.
From the actual operation of the agricultural cooperatives, it shows that there are still some difficulties and problems that need to be solved. In particular, the most difficult issues are capital, production premises, qualified human resources, etc. In addition, the output of products, the ability to apply technology to production are also important issues for many agricultural cooperatives.
In order to contribute to solving difficulties to help agricultural cooperatives develop, it is necessary to have support from functional sectors. Specifically, the Agriculture sector should closely coordinate with local authorities to establish new-style agricultural cooperatives according to criterion No.13 (form of organization of production) on building a new rural. The Provincial Cooperative Union should follow the amendment of the Law on Cooperatives in 2012 to apply the new mechanism to create a motivation for the development of cooperatives, especially agricultural cooperatives; coordinate all levels and sectors to develop mechanisms and policies to create conditions for the cooperatives to rent land for business investment and production; implement preferential regulations on taxes, land rent, fees and charges towards lower than that applicable to small and medium enterprises, etc.
In addition, the Provincial Cooperative Union should closely coordinate departments, industries, businesses, ... to support agricultural cooperatives to participate in fairs, trade promotion programs, and seminars between enterprises to seek investment opportunities and product consumption markets./.
