Can Giuoc: Seminar on branding vegetables held

District leaders visit the booth to introduce vegetable products of cooperatives at the workshop

At the workshop, district leaders identified vegetables as key crops in the highland communes of Can Giuoc district, especially, due to the soil conditions, the spice vegetables grown here have a very characteristic flavor, they are types of agricultural products contributing significantly to the economic development index of the district. Therefore, the branding of Can Giuoc vegetables is essential for sustainable development in the locality.

In particular, one of the solutions is focused on improving the quality of production, as a basis for building the brand of Can Giuoc vegetables, the main effect is the production of high-tech vegetables.

Over the past years, with the support and encouragement of local authorities, vegetable production households have applied many technological solutions, apply science and technology into growing vegetables, improving quality and productivity.

Up to now, the district has had 745 hectares of high-tech vegetable production. The model of vegetable production using bio-organic fertilizer reaches 584 hectares; construction area of net houses, greenhouses, greenhouses reached 43.2 hectares with 65 households.

The whole district currently has 25 cooperatives producing vegetables that link to consume farmers’ products. In which, 6 cooperatives are granted certificates of VietGAP standard, 2 cooperatives are allowed to produce vegetables according to safety chains. The remaining cooperatives have certificates of eligibility for food safety and hygiene. In the district, there are 9 cooperatives and 2 cooperative groups that have signed contracts to solve the output for farmers on average 3-4 tons of vegetables per day per cooperatives, they are ensured to supply of seeds, supplies and consume the output products.

In order to support Can Giuoc district with more conditions to develop high-tech vegetable production, at this conference, Minh Hung Group presented 100 farmers' Athlete net houses to farmers producing vegetables in the district with a total value of 4.5 billion VND, this helps Can Giuoc district to increase 7.5 hectares of vegetable production area applying high technology.

Can Giuoc district leaders believe that the support of Minh Hung Group will create all favorable conditions for the development of specialty vegetables of the district./.
