Commodity market during the Lunar New Year of Buffalo 2021 is expected to increase slightly compared to normal days. This is the peak time for consumers to shop for goods, especially essential items for Tet. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, living in ward 1, Kien Tuong townlet, every year, when the New Year comes, she prepares some more essential items such as cake, jam, food, drink, and so on to serve family as well as friends. In recent years, the advantage is that there are more shops and supermarkets in the area than before, so the quantity of goods is adequate and abundant, the consumers have more choices and the goods is not scarce so people do not purchase for stock as previous years. The people want the units to strictly inspect, control and manage the quality of goods and prices so that everyone can enjoy the spring, welcome the meaningful and warm New Year.
Ms. Tran Thi Hang Ny, living in Can Giuoc townlet, Can Giuoc district, said: “Although the Covid-19 epidemic has a significant impact on the family's life this year, the income has decreased significantly. When the new year comes, we also try to prepare enough utensils, food to celebrate the spring and Tet. Currently, I have a detailed plan to buy the really necessary goods, that is both economical, avoids waste and is thoughtful for Tet. The advantage is that the goods in a number of shops and supermarkets in the area are plentiful and publicly listed, so people can be assured when they go shopping”.

Despite being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, according to survey assessments, market demand for goods on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Buffalo 2021 is expected to increase slightly compared to before. In order to be proactive in supply, right from the last months of 2020, businesses and units operating in the field are proactive with plans and solutions to fully meet the needs of consumers.
According to representative of Can Giuoc Co.opMart - Pham Thi Tuyet Mai, after surveying the market, the unit actively stores essential goods for shopping for people on Tet. Supermarkets increase the amount of goods by 6.2 percent compared to the Lunar New Year of Rat 2020 with a total value of about 10 billion VND. In which, the group of food, canned food and other foods valued at 2.9 billion VND, reaching 107 percent; group of fresh foods, fruits, vegetables, tubers, fruits, meat, fish and so on worth 1.2 billion VND, reaching 100 percent; the group of cake, candy and jam worth 2.2 billion VND, reaching 112 percent; milk and beverage products worth 2.5 billion VND, reaching 105 percent; seasoning products worth 2.2 billion VND, reaching 107 percent. Warehouse is located in My Loc commune (Can Giuoc district).
Besides, Co.opMart Can Giuoc also actively plans to supply goods when the market fluctuates. The supermarkets have well prepared the stock of goods with more than 10,000 items to meet the shopping needs before, during and after the New Year, ensuring sufficient storage capacity, timely adding goods, not letting the lack of goods. Commodity prices are stable with many items and promotions. Co.opmart Can Giuoc has coordinated with a number of suppliers to participate in discounting thousands of featured Tet products with promotions from 10-50 percent combined with convenient services to help customers shop economically and fully, contributing to stimulate an increase in sales and visitors in the first days of the year, creating joy and increasing preferences for customers.
Goods for Tet is ensured
Representative of San Ha Co., Ltd. - Tran Thi Kim Khanh said that, as expected, on the occasion of Lunar New Year of Buffalo 2021, people's need to buy essential goods will increase compared to normal days, so the company actively prepares a source of goods to meet their demand. This year, the volume of goods increases about 20-30 percent compared to the previous year, the total volume of goods is more than 20 billion VND.
Stabilizing the market
Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - Nguyen Anh Viet informed that in order to create an abundant source of goods with stable and reasonable prices for the market in the last months of 2020 and adjacent to the Lunar New Year of Buffalo 2021, the Department of Industry and Trade asked Long An Import Export and Trading Joint Stock Company, Moc Hoa Trading Joint Stock Company, Co.opMart Tan An, Co.opMart Ben Luc, Co.opMart Can Giuoc and Bach Hoa Xanh stores (75 stores), the chain of VinMart Long An stores (4 stores), the San Ha convenience store system (7 stores), the companies trading in food, confectionery, beverage, alcohol and beer to stock the essential goods abundantly to meet the shopping needs of people.
Goods that businesses participate in stockpiling are essential items such as rice, sugar, monosodium glutamate, cooking oil, instant noodles, wine, beer, soft drinks, fresh food, vegetables, tubers, fruits, meat, fish, eggs, milk, sausages, sausages, cakes, jam, and so on must ensure criteria of clear origin, food safety and hygiene, good quality, reasonable price and nice design.
In addition, the Department proposed commercial businesses to strengthen their organization to expand their retail and distribution networks to rural areas, industrial zones and clusters with mobile sales to serve the shopping demand of people in remote and isolated areas and workers and labor, contributing to increasing accessibility of goods for average-and-low income people.
“In particular, in order to avoid commodity fluctuations, especially on the occasion of Tet holiday, the Department of Industry and Trade of Long An has signed an agreement to connect supply - demand for goods to stabilize the market with Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the Mekong River Delta Region. Businesses sign commitments to keep prices stable, to avoid sudden price increases as well as to supply goods to stabilize the market and to serve the shopping needs of people” - Mr. Nguyen Anh Viet added more.
The Provincial People's Committee issued Directive No. 178/CT-UBND, dated January 15, 2021, on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical celebration of the New Year of Buffalo 2021. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to monitor the development of commodity market, assess the supply and demand of goods, especially essential goods, commodities with high price fluctuations in the province. In the past time to propose measures to prepare goods sources, timely supply goods, stabilize the market, prevent shortage of goods, interrupt sources of goods causing sudden price increases in Tet holiday. Encouraging and supporting enterprises to have production plans, prepare stockpiles to serve daily and production needs of people and enterprises during Tet holiday, focus on domestically produced products with quality high quality, competitive price; to soon stabilize production and business activities after Tet. Implementing trade promotion activities, in combination with market stabilization programs, prices, supply - demand matching activities, connection between distributors and essential food suppliers, forming a distribution system, ensuring smoothness from production to consumers to create a stable source of goods for Tet. Encouraging businesses to implement promotions, stimulate demand, bring Vietnamese goods to the countryside, strengthen the organization to expand the retail network, distribution to rural areas, industrial zones and clusters, with mobile sales method to serve the shopping needs of people in remote areas and shopping needs of workers. Directing petrol and oil enterprises in the province to have plans to ensure the supply of gasoline and oil to the market during the Lunar New Year; coordinating with functional agencies to strengthen quality control of gasoline and oil circulating in the market. Closely inspecting and supervising the supply of electricity, materials and fuel to serve the daily-life, production and travel needs of the people before, during and after Tet. Propagating the use of electricity in a safe, economical and efficient manner, ensuring continuous electricity supply during the Tet holidays./. |
