From July 13, Long An province temporarily suspended the operation of enterprises in the area to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, except for essential businesses and "3-on-site" businesses. However, the rate of enterprises registered and appraised to be eligible for "3-on-site" operation is not much and the production scale also decreased sharply.

In order to flexibly implement measures when the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic changes, on August 24, 2021, the Provincial People's Committee issued the plan No. 2759 on restoring production for enterprises. The implementation of this plan is divided into 3 phases, including during the social distancing, when the epidemic situation is basically stable (after the social distancing) and the new normal situation.

Since the above plan, up to now, in the IPs alone, more hundreds of enterprises have re-registered to operate. “As of September 25, there were 371 enterprises in industrial zones registered for re-production. Currently, the functional sector has appraised and inspected 340 enterprises (31 enterprises have not yet checked), the result is that there are 280 enterprises that meet the operating conditions", said Head of the Long An Economic Zone Authority (LAEZA)- Nguyen Thanh Thanh.

Thus, including the number of businesses that have been implementing the "3-on-site" option in the past time, up to now, there are 712 enterprises in IPs in the province that have been assessed to be eligible to operate with nearly 46,000 employees. However, there are currently only 672 operating enterprises, with more than 43,000 employees, and 40 enterprises have stopped operating.

It is forecasted that more enterprises will be eligible to resume production after a long break due to the epidemic in the coming week. Accordingly, the requirement is to well implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the LAEZA, when there was no Covid-19 epidemic, there were 1,388 enterprises operating in industrial zones in the province, with nearly 187,000 employees. Recently, the province has accelerated the progress of vaccination against Covid-19 among workers and workers in enterprises. Up to now, 131,074 employees at 1,339 enterprises in IPs in the province have injected at least 1 shot, of which 46,260 people have injected 2 shots.

Facing difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, from September 8 to 22, 2021, the provincial leaders and the head of the LAEZA conducted online dialogues four times with 1,700 enterprises. Thereby, provincial leaders informed about the epidemic situation, developments, solutions and results in epidemic prevention and the province's plan to deploy reproduction to enterprises.

At the dialogues, provincial leaders directly answered many questions from enterprises’ representatives. At the same time, they grasp more difficulties of enterprises in implementing the "3-on-site" production plan. In addition, the enterprise side also has recommendations and proposals to the province to continue to handle and remove limitations, problems and inadequacies, there are ways and solutions to restore production with high efficiency./.
