On April 4, Deputy Director of Long An Department of Transport - Dang Hoang Tuan informed that the provincial People's Committee agreed some more cross-river passenger ferries to be operated again to serve the transportation for workers.

Accordingly, 4 ferries in the districts of Duc Hue and Duc Hoa including An Ninh Tay - My Quy Dong ferry, Rach Ba Don ferry, Nha Hoi ferry and Loc Giang ferry. Of which, 3 ferries (An Ninh Tay - My Quy Dong, Rach Ba Don, Nha Hoi) operate from 6 am to 6:30 am and from 5:30 pm to 6 pm. Particularly, Loc Giang ferry operates from 6 am to 7 am, from 5 pm to 6 pm.
Phuoc Vinh Dong ferry (2 places in Can Giuoc district), Ba Nho ferry (in Can Duoc district) are operated again, operating hours from 6 am to 7 pm, from 5 pm to 6 pm.
However, the Department noted the ferries must reduce 50 percent of the capacity and less than 20 people on a tour. Passengers must wear a face mask when crossing the ferries, they keep a distance as prescribed. The ferry owners must arrange disinfectant hand-washing water for passengers to wash their hands, in order to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Department will coordinate with the districts to check and survey the needs of travel at the ferries to advise the provincial People's Committee to have appropriate and practical guidance of each locality.
According to Long An newspaper, the provincial People's Committee issued a decision to suspend the operation of ferries and cross-river passenger terminals in the area from 0:00 on April 1 to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.
However, the Long Cang - An Nhut Tan ferry (managed by Can Duoc district People's Committee) and Tan Thanh ferry (managed by Can Giuoc People's Committee) are allowed to operate in the morning from 6 am to 7 am; and in the afternoon from 5 pm to 6 pm to serve the travel needs of workers in industrial parks and clusters in the area./.
