Information and Communications sector commits to accompany Education and Training sector in Covid-19 prevention

On March 26, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Education and Training held an online conference to announce the support of the Information and Communication sector to the Education and Training sector in the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic.

At the conference, representatives of the two ministries signed pledges to accompany and support in the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Information and Communications will instruct Internet providers to have free policies for students and teachers in using online teaching systems during the Covid-19 epidemic. Television stations will broadcast lessons, increase the broadcast time, share content, and relay lectures through TV channels. The Information and Communication sector will provide free information technology infrastructure to universities and disadvantaged areas; sponsor telephone numbers to text phone numbers of popular mobile networks for the guidance and administration of the Ministry of Education and Training such as providing health information, online teaching for students, students, teachers, etc.

Information technology corporations sign the commitments to accompany and support the Education sector

At the conference, representatives of four information technology corporations (Viettel, VNPT, Mobifone and Vietnamobile) signed the commitments to implement the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications in accompanying and supporting the Ministry of Education and Training in the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic.

“Although the epidemic brings challenges, it is also an opportunity for the Education sector to innovate teaching methods; enhance the application of technology in teaching and learning; improve our information technology infrastructure, including digitizing, developing learning materials and effective implementation of the information technology project of the whole sector in the coming period. The support of the Ministry of Information and Communications is very useful for the Education sector not only in the current period but also in the long term” - emphasized the Minister of Education and Training - Phung Xuan Nha.

At the Long An end-point bridge, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications - Ho Van Dan also asked telecommunications companies in the province to monitor and implement to ensure that the online teaching and the teaching program on television will be carried out smoothly and effectively during the epidemic./.
