In the final round, Cho Jae-ho defeated his countryman Heo Jung-han 40-28 to win the first prize and pocketed cash worth 2,000 USD. Heo Jung-han received 1,200 USD in cash.

Choi Sung-won and Kim Haeng-jik, both Koreans, shared the third prize, pocketing 600 USD each.

The five-day event started from April 4 and featured 50 leading cueists, including 2017 Asian champion Nguyen Quoc Nguyen of Vietnam, world No 10, Choi Sung-won of the Republic of Korea, world No 12 and Vietnamese Tran Quyet Chien, world No 15.

However, Vietnam’s billiard players did not perform well in the three-cushion carom category.

In the one-cushion carom category, Vietnam’s Ngo Dinh Nai won the first prize with 1,000 in cash. On April 5, Nai beat his teammate Ma Minh Cam 100-83 in the final to take the title for the second time.

The third prize went to Vietnam’s Pham Quoc Tuan and Lee Seung-jin of the Republic of Korea, who earned 300 USD each./.
