Leaders of Long An Provincial People's Committee work with investor and consultant on gas thermal power plant project
On November 19, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can chaired a meeting with VinaCapital Corporate Finance Vietnam Co., Ltd., Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company No.2 on selecting locations to build Long An 1 and Long An 2 gas thermal power plant projects.
At the meeting
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut, leaders of some departments and branches of the province and Can Duoc district attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the investor and consultant proposed 3 locations including the area that is near Caric Industrial Park (Phuoc Vinh Dong commune), Bac Tan Tap Industrial Park (Phuoc Vinh Dong commune, Can Giuoc district) and the area that is near Can Duoc Industrial Park (Long Huu Dong commune, Can Duoc district).

According to the consultant, the above locations are very convenient to connect to the national electricity system because of the system operation mode and the ground area are large enough. They are also near the national shipping channel. In addition, the transmission distance is short, ensuring on-site power supply, reducing technical losses on the national electricity system, ensuring the safety and efficiency of electricity supply.
The consulting unit gives the opinions
Through discussion, according to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can, the area that is near Can Duoc Industrial Park, Long Huu Dong commune, Can Duoc district has many advantages to deploy the project because this place is planned 250 hectares of industrial land. However, the investor and consultant should carefully study the above 3 locations to make the best decision to suit the interests of the authorities, local people and the investor. Long An province will create the most favorable conditions for them to implement the project.
The proposed name of the project is LNG port warehouse chain and Long An power plant. Of which, there are 100 hectares of land use on the shore and 50 hectares of water surface. Scale of the two plants is 3,000MW, using combined cycle gas turbine technology. The annual operating hours are about 6,500 hours; import fuel demand is about 2.2 million tons per year for 3,000MW./.
