Long An: 24th session of Provincial People's Council opened

52 out of 53 delegates of the Provincial People's Council attended the meeting. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc informed that the Provincial People's Council will consider and evaluate the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan, the state budget, public investment in 2020 and the whole period 2016-2020 at this meeting; decide the socio-economic development plan, state budget estimate, public investment in 2021 and the 5-year period 2021 - 2025. These are very important and core issues in the local development in 2021 and direction for the next stage.

In addition, the Provincial People's Council will consider and issue many other important resolutions such as the decision to change land use purpose, land acquisition; approving the policy of investment in many public investment works and projects in the fields of transport, irrigation, education, information technology, and so on; promulgate the Plan for implementing the Healthcare - Population Target Program; support activities to care for children with special circumstances; approve payrolls of civil servants and public employees; name some roads in the province, etc.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc suggested that the delegates of the Provincial People's Council focus on a serious, comprehensive and proper assessment of the achieved results, in-depth analysis of the difficulties and shortcomings, limitations in 2020 and the period 2016-2020, in which in-depth analysis of objective and subjective causes of the 4 targets that did not reach the plan for 2020; at the same time, they set out appropriate and feasible goals, targets, tasks and solutions for the year 2021 and the next stage for mutual determination to achieve victory.
