Long An proposes to transfer 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to support Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Dong Thap

According to the decision No. 1304/QD-VVSDTTU dated October 18, 2021 of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on allocating Covid-19 vaccines for phases 67, 68, 69, Long An was allocated 350,000 doses of AstraZeneca. However, after reviewing the demand for AstraZeneca vaccine, Long An only needed 50,000 doses.

Recently, 3 provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Dong Thap have written to Long An province to support AstraZeneca vaccine to serve the vaccination needs of localities with a total recommended dose of 300,000 doses (100,000 doses per province).

Therefore, the People's Committee of Long An province proposed the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to unify the transfer of 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca to the three provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Dong Thap.

As of October 27, Long An had over 100 percent of the population aged 18 and older injected the 1st shot and over 85 percent injected the 2nd shot of Covid-19 vaccine.

Currently, the epidemic in Long An province is basically under control, the second shot of vaccine for people aged 18 and older is also being urgently injected. The province is also one of the localities with a high rate of vaccination against Covid-19.

The proposal to transfer vaccines to support provinces is necessary and appropriate in order to join hands with localities in the Covid-19 prevention and control./.
