In addition, in the province implementing Directive 16/CT-TTg of the PM, from mid-July, most enterprises and projects had to suspend their operations, while others remained in operation when meeting the motto "3 on site". However, the operating capacity is only 10-50 percent compared to normal. Since then, the index of industrial production in the first 9 months of the year decreased by 3.38 percent over the same period. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry decreased by nearly 3.7 percent; electricity production and distribution increased by 2.7 percent; water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater increased by 7.1 percent.

Some product groups recorded growth rates such as animal feed, aqua feed, bottled beer, natural fibers, woven fabrics from synthetic fibers, iron and steel production, etc.

There are 49 out of 73 product groups with a decrease rate, of which 16 product groups have a decrease rate of over 20 percent. Some industries decreased such as milled rice, tobacco production, artificial cotton yarn, adult shirt production, bags, backpacks, products, oil and lubricants production, etc.

Currently, the People's Committee of Long An province has issued a plan to restore production and trade of enterprises due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant departments and sectors to coordinate with localities to well implement the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic in enterprises in industrial parks, industrial clusters, economic parks and enterprises outside industrial parks and clusters. Departments, branches and localities continue to grasp the operation situation of enterprises, promptly propose the Provincial People's Committee to remove difficulties and obstacles, encourage enterprises to develop production in the context of the Covid-19 complicated development.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Economic Zone Authority and the Department of Industry and Trade to regularly inspect and urge infrastructure companies to accelerate investment in infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters to have at least 3 more industrial parks and 2 industrial clusters put into operation in 2021./.
