Bronchoscopy is considered to be the most modern method, useful for early diagnosis of respiratory diseases

Currently, there are many new techniques used to detect dangerous respiratory diseases, especially lung cancer. Soft-straw bronchoscopy is a technique that helps to observe the inside of the respiratory tract, is considered to be the most accurate and modern diagnostic method, greatly helpful for early diagnosis and treatment for pathology in the respiratory department; help detect the cause of breathing problems such as removing respiratory objects, causing difficulty breathing, bleeding or prolonged cough, etc.

Right on the first day of bronchoscopy, patient N.H.C (56 years old, living in Binh Thanh commune, Thu Thua district) was taken a sample of fluid in the lung for testing. As a result, the patient was positive for tuberculosis. Before that, the patient had a fever, a prolonged cough, had been treated in many places, but the cough did not go away, it took a lot of time, effort and money. In addition, the patient was also tested for sputum (due to the patient's self-spitting) but negative for tuberculosis bacteria, he did not think about tuberculosis. Thanks to the bronchoscopy, the patient is correctly diagnosed and treated according to the anti-tuberculosis regimen.

On March 18, patient N.V.A (81 years old, living in Kien Tuong town), suffered from lung disease for many years without cure. After the endoscopy, the patient was found to have lung cancer and promptly treated.

From there, it can be seen that the patient will not recover from the disease if the bronchoscopy is not used for diagnosis; for tuberculosis patients, there is a risk of transmission to the family and society.

This is the first time that Long An GH has used bronchoscopy to diagnose and treat lung disease (currently other medical facilities in the province and some provinces have not implemented this technique). This method is technology transfer from Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, helping to reduce the overload for upper hospitals, reduce the economic and spiritual burden for the patient and family./.
