Long An collects over 12.2 bln VND for Natural Disaster Prevention Fund

To ensure the prevention of floods and storms, the management and exploitation of irrigation works, the provincial agriculture sector coordinates with localities to check the situation of water quality on rivers; urges and guides districts, towns and cities to carry out the collection to the provincial fund management agencies; continues to monitor the weather, natural disasters and water quality in order to promptly warn to serve production and disaster prevention.

Besides, the sector continues to implement the plan to collect Disaster Prevention Fund in 2019 when the Provincial People's Committee approves; considers the need of using local funds to coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance to advise and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for decision; reviews and places warning signs of landslides on rivers, canals to warn people not to enter dangerous areas.

In addition, the sector also plans and inspects the preparations for flood prevention in Dong Thap Muoi in 2019; prepares a plan to maintain the dike in 2019 under the flood protection dike project in Vinh Hung town./.
