Currently, Long An Customs Department is assigned to manage import and export activities in the three provinces of Long An, Tien Giang and Ben Tre. The Department is managing 13 ports (8 inland ports, 5 seaports - 2 specialized ports (petroleum, liquefied petroleum gas)), 4 bonded warehouses with over 2,400 businesses inside and outside industrial zones and clusters in 3 provinces.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Long An Provincial Customs Department collected 2,138 billion VND to the state budget, completing 53% of the assigned estimate for 2024. To achieve this result, Long An Customs Department always has the support, coordination and companionship of businesses in recent times.

With the desire to propagate and provide information to customs declarants and taxpayers about customs legal policies, at the conference, businesses were disseminated regulations on importing and exporting seafood; the importance of certificates of origin and solutions to overcome common errors; some notes in processing, production, and exporting activities.

Besides, to create favorable conditions for export and import activities and taxpayers, Long An Customs Department organizes dialogues to answer difficulties and problems such as: Signatures on C/O on export and import shipments; How to determine the VAT rate applicable to imported goods eligible for 8% and 10%; Enterprises declare an attached list of containers that are often defective, cannot receive feedback, and request quick fixes when errors occur; Enterprises are delayed in issuing circuit codes when declaring customs; etc. The opinions, difficulties and shortcomings of enterprises are all answered and recorded by customs officers.

In addition, Long An Customs Department continues to commit to always creating favorable conditions for import and export activities through ensuring quick customs clearance; guide and receive notices on the list of imported tax-exempt goods shortened from 3 days to 2 days; shorten the time from inspecting production facilities for processing, production, and export activities to determine eligibility for import tax exemption to only 3 days, etc.

On this occasion, Long An Customs Department rewarded 53 businesses that well comply with customs laws, have high import and export turnover in 2023 and have high tax amounts paid to the state budget in 2023./.
