Long An Customs Department collects budget over 3,559 billion VND in 2020

Until December 31 2020, total revenue of Long An Customs Department has reached 3,559 billion VND, reaching 89 percent in comparison to the criteria assigned by Financial Ministry. It gained 85,8 percent in striving target assigned by General Customs Department of Vietnam, decreasing 6,4 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

With above collection, Long An budget collection reached 3,087 billion VND, reaching 83,8 percent compared to the goal assigned by Ministry of Finance, reaching 81,2 percent in comparison to the criteria assigned by General Customs Department of Vietnam, decreasing 11,6 percent collated with the same term 2019. Revenue of Tien Giang and Ben Tre Province is 472 billion VND which is 49,9 percent greater than the criteria assigned by the Ministry of Finance, increasing 64 percent compared to the same period last year.

In 2020, Long An Customs Department was assigned by the Ministry of Finance to achieve the budget of 4 billion VND and strive to reach 4,150 billion VND by General Customs Department of Vietnam. However, it is impossible to reach the target due to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic. Production activities of all fields were affected and led to the drop in consumption market.

In Long An, many big enterprises is influenced by slow raw materials supply, or delay by Covid-19 pandemic. In order to satisfy the criteria assigned, Long An Customs Department made great effort, timely handle many problems about policy, customs procedures for enterprises. In addition, Long An Customs Department assigned cadres to find out difficulties directly to assist companies before, during and after the pandemic; addressed many issues in import and export activities via comprehend opinions from enterprise dialogue conference at Sub-department under the Vietnam Customs.

Besides, Long An Customs Department also drastically implemented the reforms of administrative procedures, modernization, strengthening the supporting work for enterprises, fighting against corruption and the negatives with an aim of creating the most beneficial condition for businesses and taxpayers. Thereby, there are 2,135 enterprises doing customs procedures for import and export goods at Customs Department in 2020, exceeding 4 percent compared to the same period in 2019. In which, enterprises have foreign investment capital account for 35 percent of the total enterprises which undertake the customs procedures.

Director of Long An Customs Department - Nguyen Ngoc Huan said that Long An Customs Department will determine to implement solutions in 2021, accomplishing 100 percent of the revenue target assigned 3,450 billion VND by the Ministry of Finance. In which, Long An strives to 3,000 billion VND, Tien Giang achieves 275 billion VND and Ben Tre will try the best to achieve 175 billion VND.

To complete the targets, Long An Customs Department continues to reform and simplify administrative procedures in the field of Customs in a manner of modernity, publicity and explication; promptly settle problems related to customs procedures, tax policy and tax administration; accounting regime, tax refund regime, tax exemption, solving difficulties, creating advantageous conditions for enterprises to participate in import and export activities.

On this occasion, Long An Customs Department, Ben Luc Customs Branch received the emulation flag of the Ministry of Finance for its excellent outstanding achievements, leading the emulation movement of the financial sector in 2019./.
