Long An Customs Department receives, processes and returns customs clearance results from 1-3 seconds

Over the past time, Long An Department of Customs has actively proactively and synchronously implemented solutions to promote administrative reform and customs modernization in order to create favorable conditions for businesses to carry out their import and export activities.

In particular, with the automatic clearance system VNACCS/VCIS implementing fully automatic customs procedures, it takes only 1-3 seconds to receive, process and return results for the "green channel" declaration form. The centralized satellite information technology (IT) systems at the General Department of Customs are monitored and operated stably 24/7, ensuring security and safety smoothly, serving the customs clearance for imported and exported goods.

Over the past years, the Long An Department of Customs has faced many difficulties because the annual staff has not increased or even decreased due to the retirement of civil servants, while the actual workload is increasing. In the past years, at the Long An Department of Customs, customs clearance has increased by 8-10 percent on average in terms of turnover and declarations each year. In order to be able to handle jobs well and create favorable conditions for businesses, the Long An Department of Customs focuses on improving the quality of high-quality human resources towards its profession and depth; promote modernization and application of IT in business processes.

Currently, 100 percent of leaders at all levels at the unit are standardized in terms of political theory, professional skills, suitable for their current titles. 100 percent of cadres and civil servants are proficient in their respective positions, meeting the professional standards of the General Department of Customs. In addition, civil servants of the Long An Department of Customs also participate in a competency test according to job position in order to do well in their responsibilities and powers, assess the capacity of civil servants according to their current titles to arrange more suitable jobs. Since then, officials and civil servants have effectively applied IT and modern equipment in key areas of customs management: Carrying out customs clearance procedures, paying taxes, managing goods at the seaport, risk management, post-clearance inspection and handling of violations./.
